About Us
The Montreal Center of the Royal Canadian College of Organists is dedicated to promoting the organ and its music. Our centre comprises organists, choir directors, organ builders, and enthusiasts. This dynamic group promotes the organ and its players by hosting social events, workshops, and concerts throughout Montreal and its surrounding area.
Each Year the Montreal RCCO Centre hosts The Lynwood Farnam Organ Competition. This longstanding Montreal tradition is named after the legendary Montreal Born concert organist Lynwood Farnam. The Competition has a long legacy, with records dating back to 1954; however, it is known that there were competitions held before that year.
This year the competition will be held in May and will focus on New works Composed for the Organ and works by Underrepresented Composers.
